The National Health Support Program Sindh successfully concluded a three-day Training of Trainers on the Competency Assessment System for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Healthcare in Hyderabad, held from February 10–12, 2026. The session was led by Ms. Syfoor Khan, Gender & Training Specialist (NHSP Sindh), with co-facilitation from Dr. Shazia Zeeshan (RMNCH Karachi, PPHI), Dr. Marvi (Assistant Director RMNCH), and Mr. Imran Ahmed (MIS Specialist, NHSP Sindh). Participants included the DDHO-RMNCH, ADHO-RMNCH, Deputy Director RMNCH, and Assistant Directors RMNCH from the Health Department, Government of Sindh. This NHSP initiative marks a significant intervention in strengthening Primary Health Care (PHC) by institutionalizing rigorous competency standards. By ensuring healthcare providers are better equipped to deliver high-quality, life-saving interventions, this training aims to achieve a measurable reduction in maternal and neonatal mortality across the region
