National Health Support Program (NHSP) Sindh
NHSP is aimed to support primary healthcare (PHC) reforms, essential for improving maternal, reproductive, child health and nutrition outcomes. Integrating services at PHC health facilities helps to ensure the efficient use of scarce resources and provides mothers and children with basic services.

About nhsp
The World Bank-supported National Health Support Program in Sindh is an initiative designed to strengthen the Provincial Government’s Health Department in its pursuit of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Beyond enhancing healthcare delivery, the NHSP Sindh seeks to catalyze transformative changes within the primary health care (PHC) system. It also fosters a national platform for dialogue and consensus-building, enabling federal and provincial authorities to collaboratively shape a clear vision and redesign public healthcare service delivery in Sindh.

Strengthening Primary Health Care:
Key Priority Areas
To ensure everyone has access to essential health services, we are committed to improving the quality and equitable delivery of care at the community and primary health care (PHC) levels. Our program targets the following prioritized areas:
Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and Child Health (RMNCH)
The aim is to empower primary healthcare providers through updated training, aligning with Universal Health Coverage goals. LHWs will receive specialized training in treating minor illnesses, promoting safe deliveries, providing nutritional support, and ensuring timely referrals for complex cases. A robust referral system will be in place to connect primary health centers and outreach services, ensuring efficient and cost-effective healthcare utilization.
Tuberculosis Control Program
Increasing TB case detection through more contribution of healthcare providers by training staff. Also ensuring provision of proper diagnostic services and improvement in screening at primary healthcare level.
Child Immunization
Making immunization services accessible, particularly in lagging areas of Sindh, and ensuring the availability of all essential medicines and vaccines at primary healthcare facilities.
DHIS2
An integrated Health Data Information System is being implemented to enable the timely identification of problems and the development of remedial action plans, leading to improved monitoring, surveillance, and evidence-based decision-making.
