NHSP in Sindh is a crucial initiative driving comprehensive primary healthcare (PHC) reforms to strengthen health systems and improve health and nutrition outcomes. This is achieved through a three-pronged strategy: aligning PHC to deliver a high-quality benefits package with demand generation and supply-side readiness; establishing integrated approaches for PHC service delivery in financing, human resources, and information systems; and addressing inadequate PHC funding and weak public financial management. By integrating essential services at PHC facilities, NHSP ensures efficient resource utilization, providing vital basic healthcare services to mothers and children. These efforts are fundamental to strengthening primary healthcare and advancing Sindh’s journey towards Universal Health Coverage.
A message from our leadership, highlighting the vision, mission, and unwavering commitment of NHSP to transform healthcare for every citizen in Sindh.
Our commitment extends to fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) by ensuring access to quality, affordable healthcare, essential medicines, and vaccines for all. The Sindh Health Department is dedicated to transforming healthcare for the people of Sindh. We are strategically investing in a robust primary healthcare system, the foundation for achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The National Health Support Program is a cornerstone of this effort, further strengthening healthcare coverage, expanding childhood immunization rates, and developing an integrated health information system for high-quality data-driven decision-making.We are committed to serving the people of Sindh and building a healthier future for all.
A healthy Sindh is our priority. We envision a future where every citizen has access to quality healthcare without financial hardship. The Sindh government is committed to making this vision a reality by strengthening our healthcare system, expanding coverage, essential health services, and addressing the social determinants of health.
The National Health Support Program is a vital part of our strategy to improve the quality of healthcare throughout the province to reduce out of pocket expenditure and morbidity & mortality.
We are undertaking a comprehensive strategy to strengthen primary healthcare across the province. This includes a dedicated focus on improving basic health facilities in underserved districts, furthermore, we are developing an integrated database system to optimize healthcare delivery.
We are confident that these multifaceted interventions will enable us to better serve the healthcare needs of our communities. The National Health Support Program (NHSP) is playing particularly in relation to Universal Health Coverage.
In Sindh, we recognize that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. Our vision is a Sindh where every individual, regardless of their background, location, or socioeconomic status, can access the essential health services without facing financial hardship.
The National Health Support Program is committed to the enhancement of equitable delivery and quality of essential health services at the primary care level in Sindh, in pursuit of Universal health coverage(UHC).
We improve maternal and child health through trained staff, safe deliveries, nutrition support, and strong referral systems.
Digital data systems to monitor healthcare services & diseases, enabling faster, evidence-based decision-making.
Universal Health Coverage (UHC) means ensuring everyone has access to the quality health services they need. Precisely when and where they need them, without suffering financial hardship from healthcare costs. Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 3.8 is tracked through two key metrics: the coverage of essential health services (SDG indicator 3.8.1), which assesses how many people are receiving the care they require, and catastrophic health spending (SDG indicator 3.8.2), which monitors the financial burden health costs place on households. Together, these indicators provide a comprehensive picture of progress in making quality healthcare accessible and affordable for all.
