The Sindh UHC Coordination Meeting was held at the EPI Hall, Karachi, under the distinguished chairmanship of the Honorable Minister for Health and Population Welfare, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, and in the presence of Secretary Health, Mr. Tahir Hussain Sangi. This high-level forum brought together a powerful coalition of partners, including PPHI, MERF, EPI, TB, RMNCH, DG M&E, Pathfinder, Global Fund, UNICEF, UNFPA, JICA, World Bank, World Food Program, ACASUS, Jhpiego, AKU, EOC, SICHN, AAP TFS, and NHSP Sindh.
Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is more than a goal; it is a commitment to ensuring that every citizen has access to high-quality healthcare without facing financial hardship. During the session, DGHSS Dr. Waqar Mehmood Memon highlighted critical interventions in strengthening service delivery and the alignment of UHC reforms with the health department’s long-term vision. Furthermore, Dr. Abdur Rehman (AD MIS) briefed on the essential integration of health MIS systems, a move that ensures data-driven decision-making for better patient outcomes.
Sindh is firmly on the right track. By unifying international donors, technical experts, and provincial leadership, we are building a resilient Primary Health Care (PHC) system that serves as the backbone of our society. Together, we are transforming the healthcare landscape to ensure a Healthy Sindh for every generation.
